Orlando, Fla., March 26, 2018鈥擳he Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) is participating in on Wednesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 29, at 2018鈥檚 (NHC), where experts on insurance and disaster preparedness will be available for media interviews.
Held at the , 6001 Destination Parkway, Orlando, Fla., the annual gathering begins today (Monday, March 26) and concludes on Thursday, March 29.
The I.I.I.鈥檚 participation starts on Wednesday, March 28 with an informal discussion at 8:30 a.m. titled Snappy Comebacks: Resiliency Strategies to Prepare for, Save Money and Bounce Back from Disaster. The session will focus on how insurers are communicating the importance and effectiveness of taking proactive steps to minimize the impact of major storms and to encourage storm-damaged communities to rebuild stronger. A by the National Institute of Building Sciences states that, for every $1 spent on hazard mitigation, the U.S. can save $6 on future disaster costs. Getting people to understand the importance of making that investment is at the center of many of the topics covered at the NHC.
