Craig Clements, a Professor of Meteorology at California鈥檚 San Jos茅 State University (SJSU) and the Director of SJSU鈥檚听, has been appointed a non-resident scholar at the听听(Triple-I). 鈥淭he Triple-I is excited to have Dr. Clements join our organization given his expertise in the scientific factors which drive wildfires and his knowledge about how to mitigate against them,鈥 stated听, CEO, Triple-I. 鈥淪ince the听听in California鈥檚 history have occurred since 2018, developing public policies to combat them is a high priority in the nation鈥檚 most populous state.鈥 Dr. Clements joins a group of 18 distinguished Triple-I听. These individuals provide insights about timely issues facing 天美传媒 industry; deliver presentations; moderate panel discussions; and write and review white papers and research projects. Their work is supplemented by Triple-I products such as its online听. 鈥淪an Jose State University鈥檚 Wildfire Interdisciplinary Research Center shares with the Triple-I a听--educating the public and policymakers about the threats to life and property posed by wildfires,鈥 Dr. Clements said. 鈥淚 look forward to sharing our Research Center鈥檚 findings with the Triple-I, one of the nation鈥檚 most trusted sources of unique, data-driven insights on insurance.鈥 Dr. Clements leads research on fire weather, extreme fire behavior, fire-atmosphere interactions, and conducting wildfire field experiments. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and teaches SJSU courses in Fire Weather, Wildfire Science, Mountain Meteorology, Climate Change, and Meteorological Instrumentation. The Triple-I鈥檚 newest non-resident scholar received his Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Houston, a master鈥檚 degree in Meteorology from the University of Utah, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Geography from the University of Nevada. Dr. Clements鈥 research has been featured in prominent media outlets, including听PBS NOVA,听Rolling Stone,听The New York Times,听Time,听CNN, and听Scientific American.听
