NEW YORK, Oct. 20, 2022—Superstorm Sandy made landfall on Oct. 29, 2012, and remains one of the deadliest and costliest natural disasters in U.S. history nearly a decade later, according to the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I).

“Much like we are seeing of late with Hurricane Ian, Sandy serves as a stark reminder that it is critical for Americans to look into attaining flood insurance, in addition to their traditional homeowner policy,” said Sean Kevelighan, CEO, Triple-I.�� “What’s more, there is no community on the East or Gulf Coasts that is not vulnerable to the devastation hurricane force winds or storm surge can bring.
