NEW YORK, Dec. 16, 2020—StandardÌý,Ìý, andÌýÌýpolicies provide coverage for damage to property caused by wind, snow, severe cold and freezing rain, according to theÌýÌý(Triple-I).

Property damage caused by flooding isÌýnotÌýcovered by these same policies.

Melting snow that seeps into a home, apartment, condominium, or business from the ground up would be covered byÌý, which is provided byÌýÌýand some private insurers.

Those involved in an auto accident between two or more vehicles caused by snowy and slippery road conditions, or who crash into an object like a light pole, are covered by aÌýÌýfor any damage incurred.

If a tree falls on your car and causes damage, or if the car sustains water damage from a flood, that is covered under theÌýÌýof an auto insurance policy.ÌýAbout 75 percent of all U.S. drivers opt to purchase comprehensive coverage.
